Genius is a biography of some of the most extraordinary people to walk on the face of Earth. It belongs to the drama and history genre. Genius is an American anthology period drama by Noah Pink and Kenneth Biller aired on National Geographic. The first season of this show is based on the life of Albert Einstein, the second commemorates Pablo Picasso.

The third season was originally set to be there isn’t developed on Mary Shelley but was later directed on the life of Aretha Franklin. The fourth and the most recent season of Genius followed the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

The show is basically set with the purpose of telling us the life stories of these geniuses and how they rose to such popularity and respect that now there doesn’t exist a single person who doesn’t know about them one way or the other.

Season 1 of the show is based on the life of Albert Einstein and is shown in the form of 2 different periods: First when he was a patent clerk struggling to get a teaching position and doctorate and second as a respected and well-known scientist due to the development of his theory of relativity. This season opens with the Einstein choosing whether to emigrate to the US or stay with his fellow academics. While making the choice the scientist reminisces his past days as a student at Zurich Polytechnic and how he met his first wife and the mother of his child Mileva Maric.

The whole story revolves around how Einstein goes from struggling to get a doctorate and working as a clerk to support his pregnant wife to becoming the greatest scientist of all time. Towards the closing of the show, Einstein gets reminded of the happiness science once brought him when a neighbor asks him for homework help.

The second season is based on Pablo Picasso(originally Pablo Ruiz), a renowned artist who chose to reject the traditional norms and set on finding his unique style. The whole season is a testimony of the hard work Picasso put into his art, how he develops his style, and the struggles he had to face in his lifetime. Towards the end of the second season, Pablo goes into isolation and creates a neo-expressionist self-portrait after which he dies at the age of 91 on April 8, 1973, without any will.

Season 3 revolves around the life of Aretha Franklin, a singing prodigy. The story follows how she becomes part of Atlantic records, goes on her first touring experience on the Gospel Circuit in 1954, meets her idol Clara Ward and has her first child at 12. She records her protest album Young, Gifted and Black when she gets to know how only the controversial aspects of her life are highlighted in the article published by Time magazine.

Aretha records her best-selling “Amazing Grace” in 1972 and has her second child at the age of 14. At the end of the second season, it is shown how Franklin begins a career at Arista, and in a Grammy Performance in 1998 she became the Queen Of Soul. Season 4 is all about the struggles and greatness of Martin Luther King Jr. and How he fought for his rights and encouraged others to do the same.

Season 1, named Einstein of the tremendous show premiered on April 25, 2017, and was last released on June 20, 2017, and had 10 episodes. Season 2 named Picasso aired from April 24, 2018, to June 19, 2018, and had 10 episodes just like season 1. The third season, called Aretha had 8 episodes aired from March 21, 2021, till March 24, 2021.

The most recent season was released on March 23, 2022. Right now Genius sits at a rating of 8.3 out of 10 on IMDb. As far as the 5th season is concerned there is no official information about the renewal but we will get back to you as soon as we get more information about the renewal of the widely loved show. The latest sequel of the series which was aired on March 23, 2022, was dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. and was based on his struggles and his history of him fighting for his rights. It is expected that the 5th season of Genius would also be based on some historical figure who is well known and follow the footsteps of their struggles and depict their life during the peak years.
