Shining Girls, a thriller from a 2013 novel named The Shining Girls, is a tale of an adult lady named Kirby Mazrachi whose life is haunted by her childhood memories. At a young age, Kirby is assaulted and attacked by a stranger and left alone to die. Hopefully, she survives, but tragically, the stranger is nowhere to be found after the incident. Kirby is still traumatized by that incident and continuously tries to look for the stranger.
The first season of Shining Girls is about Kirby, a girl who is still traumatized by the assault from her past and struggles to make sense of her reality that keeps changing. Desperate to find her attacker while working as an archivist at the Chicago Sun-Times, Kirby finds a murder case that, according to her, seems to resemble her past attacker.
The ending of Shining Girls left the audience in a mystery in which a house is revealed to be the conduit of Harper’s ability to jump through time. Kirby then decides to travel back in time to warn the first victim of Harpen not to welcome him back. However, the plot of Shining Girls season 2 is not in production, as the first series has yet to release long ago.
