The Americans is a six-season drama that premiered earlier this year. The theme of the series is based on the Cold War. The Soviet intelligence officer and an American couple were married in Fall Church, a Virginia suburb of Washington, by Paige and Henry, their American-born children. The series also examines the dispute between the FBI office in Washington and the KGB Rezidentura from the perspectives of agents on both sides, notably Jennings’ neighbor Stan Beeman, an FBI counterintelligence agent.

The plot picks up in the early 1980s. According to the show’s creator, the series is mostly about marriage. The core series is based on their marriage story, mostly how they manage their married life with their extensive duties and other subjects.
