Although there is not a long-established release date for The Idol on HBO just yet, the trailers state it as “coming soon.”

Nevertheless, in the comments of the performances, HBO has linked to a programming video, commenting, “Check out what else is new on HBO in 2022,” which suggests that the show may be unconfined later this year. From this, we can imagine a release date of Fall or Winter 2022.

Cinematography for The Idol began in late January 2022, which would kind one assume that the show won’t be unconfined until 2023 at the earliest. Since the trailer was released in July of the same year, there could be a slim casual that The Idol might be captioned to our screens in late 2022.

Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd will be combined by a complete host of big names. Per Deadline’s announcement, Lily-Rose and The Weekend will be linked by Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sen not, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey, and Hank Azaria.

As with the character particulars, HBO’s The Idol plot is largely unknown, but the raunchy trailers surely set the tone for a lonely ride, à la Sam Levinson’s other work.

Giving to Deadline, the drama series follows “a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult,” played by Lily-Rose and The Weeknd individually. Quite forthrightly, it’s giving enormous Euphoria vibes.

Still, since the typescripts are presumably adults, the ante has been upped regarding after-hours actions and recreational activities, if you know what we mean. There are, in fact, two trailers at the period of writing this article.

The first teaser trailer was out on July 16th, with The Weeknd premiering it through his After Hours Til Dawn Tour at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. Free on August 21st, the second teaser trailer opens with the words “from the gutters of Hollywood.” The puzzle begins with The Weeknd’s character responding to the phone, seemingly Lily-Rose’s character, to which he says: “Hello, Angel.”

From there, several divisions include moody outdoor shots, blaring fans, sultry dance moves, and Dan Levy saying, “This is sex?” After seeing Lily-Rose Depp’s character liability dance numbers, falling for Tesfaye’s character, and the existence of the damsel in distress, the trailer accomplishes a tense communication with an unknown person, allegedly the cult frontrunner, who asks Depp’s character, “Do you trust me?” To which she responds with a smile, “Not really.”
