Jessica Chastain is ditching the microphone for a laptop – she recently played country music legend Tammy Wynette and will now star in Apple’s short series The Savant. Under her Freckle Films label, Chastain is executive producing alongside James Gibson who has an overall deal with Fifth Season. Further, Matthew Heineman, director of documentaries Cartel Land and Retrograde, will be executive producing in addition to directing, while Freckle Films’ Kelly Carmichael, Cosmopolitan’s editor-in-chief Jessica Giles, and Hearst Magazine’s SVP of Development Brian Madden will serve as producers. Dasti Haynes is also part of the cast.
