The famous Japanese manga psychological thriller television series Tomodachi Game is written by Mikoto Yamaguchi and Yuki Sato and illustrated by also Sato. Yuichi Katagiri understood the meaning of friendship at a very young age for being between four friends and enjoying high school life. However, the funds collected for their school trip get stolen, and the group is forced to participate in the Tomodachi Game. The group’s friendship is tested against the promise of wealth.
The anime premiered on April 6, 2022, and concluded on June 22. It initially appeared in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine by Kodansha in December 2013, followed by a TV adaptation and live-action films. An anime based on the same was released in April 2022, followed by another TV adaptation – Tomodachi Game R4 for Asahi in July 2022.

Tomodachi Game Season 2 Release Date
The anime adaptation was announced in November 2021. It is helmed by Hirofumi Ogura and written by Kenta Ihara. Satomi Miyazaki is involved in the characters’ design and Michiru is the music composer. The show premiered in April this year, ending in June, and it was streamed on NTV, BS NTV, and AT-X. The opening theme song, Double Shuffle is created by Nana Mizuki and the ending theme song is titled Tomoshibi.
Crunchyroll is involved in the show’s distribution outside Asia and Medialink distributes it in Southeast Asia. It started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on May 13, 2022, in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, and on June 8, 2022, in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. An English dubbed version was released on April 19, 2022. But there is no news regarding the second season of Tomodachi Game.
Tomodachi Game Season 2 Plot
Tomodachi Game aired last year and it has not been a long time since Season 1 premiered. The first season ended this year and considering that it has been a few months, the developers might decide to bring back another season. There is currently no information available on what the makers have planned in case they decide to bring another season.
However, all we can do for now is to expect that we might get to see a second season considering that the first season’s characters and the storyline were loved by the audiences. Coming to the lead characters, Yuichi Katagiri understood a lot of things at a young age. Meanwhile, if we check his background, we get to know that he has a different side which is ruthless, manipulative, and merciless to his enemies.
There have been hints suggesting that he has a dark past where he killed around three people and two of them were his adopted parents. In case a second season is confirmed, the makers might decide to explore a bit more of Katagiri’s past, which means that we might get to see more of the violence, action, and thrills.
Talking about a second season, it is obvious that there might be some new characters who would equally contribute to the storyline. They would help to bring a lot of new things to the show and the show is airing on some popular channels and OTT platforms that have a lot of viewers.
