XO, Kitty has been a long-awaited show since it is the spinoff of the already-loved franchise: To All The Boys I Loved Before. Since XO, Kitty was announced by Netflix, the fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for its release.
XO, Kitty Season 1 premiered on Netflix on May 18, 2023, and has been an instant hit amongst all the fans across the world, securing the number one position in tv series for most countries since its release.
XO, Kitty Season 2 Release Date
As of now, Netflix is yet to announce the renewal of XO, Kitty. After the open-ended finale of XO, Kitty Season 1 fan are eagerly waiting for XO, Kitty Season 2 to answer all their questions which Season 1 has kept them inquisitive of. Who is Kitty’s Mom’s first love? What is next for Kitty, Yuri, and Min Ho? All these questions are yet to be answered by Season 2.
Even though there has been no official confirmation on XO, Kitty Season 2 yet, however, it is not even a guess that there must be a renewal of XO, Kitty, which Netflix will most probably announce in a few months. The way the show ended with so many story arcs unfinished is a hint enough that there is season 2 on the way! The cast and crew of XO Kitty have also mentioned in interviews how they would love to continue the story and work for XO, Kitty Season 2.
Since no official word is out yet, we can assume, based on how Netflix usually takes approximately a year’s gap for successive seasons’ releases we can expect that XO, Kitty may come back in 2024 summer since fans are already waiting for their questions to be answered and see happy endings for their favorite ships in the show.
XO, Kitty Season 1 Plot
XO, Kitty follows the life of Kitty, who has been a supporting character in all three movies of All the Boys I loved before prior. She was, in fact, the cupid and takes pride in being the matchmaker for most couples as she possesses the sixth sense of when two people are meant to be but just cannot find their ways to each other yet.
However, things take a turn when her own love life comes to a swirl, and she ends up in a chaotic situation as she explores an abundance of traits about herself, experiences new experiences she never did think of earlier and discovers a number of secrets about situations around while she simultaneously feels the increasing connection with and presence of her mother around by just being there.
Kitty moves to Seoul to reunite with her pen pal and one true love, Dae; however, her utopian world breaks when she reaches and learns about Dae’s “girlfriend,” Yuri, and feels deceived. However, at the same time, she suspects that it is a fake show and Dae must be hiding the reality from her.
She was indeed right about it, and the entire show continues from that trope and deals with many issues like freedom, secrets of all age groups, and how everyone tries to love freely in a judged society at the same time. Kitty keeps learning about her mom in the school, too, as she keeps discovering new secrets every other day and, by the end of the show, discovers more about her own sexuality and preferences and has to deal with heartbreaks and take decisions to do what is right the same time.
XO, Kitty Season 1 Cast
If XO, Kitty is renewed for a second season, we imagine that all of the main cast will be back in season 2. In other words, we expect to see Anna Cathcart (Kitty), Minyeong Choi (Dae), Anthony Keyvan (Q), Gia Kim (Yuri), Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho), Peter Thurnwald (Alex) and Regan Aliya (Juliana) and Yunjin Kim (Principal Jina Lim) all return in season 2. However, of course, like every new season, there must be new entries like Simon, who was mentioned in the last episode, and maybe more new supporting characters to make the storyline even more interesting.
