American production company and subscription streaming service Netflix is bringing a new science fiction television drama series called 3 body problems based on the same name novel by Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin. It is written by Alexander Woo, David Benioff, and D. B. Weiss, who are also the executive producers of the series, along with Zhao Jilong, Nena Rodrigue, Ram Bergman, Robie Uniacke, Bernadette Caulfield, Lin Qi, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Brad Pitt, Rian Johnson, and Rosamund Pike. Primitive Streak, Three-Body Universe, Plan B Entertainment, and T-Street Television produce the series.

The series hired some talented stars who will be playing the key characters, including Eiza González, he joined the series in August 2021, and in the same month, Derek Tsang also joined the series. In October, Tsai Chin, Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Benedict Wong, González, and Liam Cunningham joined the series. In June, Eve Ridley, Jonathan Pryce, Ben Schnetzer, and Rosalind Chao joined the series.

D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, alongside Alexander Woo, were developing a drama for Netflix based on the novel by Liu Cixin, which was announced in September 2020. On November 8, 2021, shooting for the series started in the United Kingdom and China and has not concluded. Once the production is completed, the makers will announce an official release date for the show; by then, we can assume that the show will hit our screen in late 2022 or early 2023.

Wang Miao, a Chinese physicist and researcher, gets trapped in a conspiracy when state intelligence requests him to find a group called The Frontiers of Science linked to many suicides among the members. Ye Wenije, an astrophysicist, witnessed his father being killed during the Chinese Cultural Revolution 40 years before the original story. Following her father’s death, she was taken to a labour camp but conscripted due to her scientific expertise and transferred to a secret radar base in a remote area of China.

Ye’s daughter was one of those who committed suicide, and they became friends while recalling her work at the bottom. Wang begins progressing with a mysterious VR game called Three Body, set in an alien world with weird weather and a day or night cycles. The game features an alien race attempting to create a functional calendar amid their society being almost eradicated because of patternless heat and cold waves. The game’s objective is that the player uses a scientific method to help the creatures understand their world better.
