The official synopsis on ‘Fox’ reads, Nearly 20 years ago, Owen Strand was the lone survivor of his Manhattan firehouse on 9/11, and in the wake of the attack, was left with the unenviable task of rebuilding the station. After a similar tragedy strikes a firehouse in Austin, Texas, Owen — along with his troubled firefighter son, T.K. takes his progressive philosophies of life and firefighting down to the Lone Star State to help them start anew.

On the surface, Owen is all about big-city style and swagger, but underneath he struggles with a secret he hides from the world, one that could very well end his life. In the second season, as Owen welcomes the 126’s newest member, Captain Vega, into the fold, he also must face the unexpected arrival of his ex-wife, Gwyneth, who visits Austin to check on their firefighter son, T.K., following the injuries he sustained at the end of last season. All of this occurs as the rescue squad must deal with an emergency that the Texas capital has never encountered before.

Tommy attempts to maintain a strong façade after her husband’s untimely death in the second season. And in the last episode, a dangerous dust storm strikes Austin. The third season continued to see Station 126 responding to emergency calls on Austin streets. On the other hand, Tommy’s life saw her observing a new lease on life after her spouse’s death.

During season 4, we may also learn whether Owen’s health is stable after the removal of the last cancerous tumor in season 2. Grace and Judd’s lives have changed in several ways, and their future will be revealed in the fourth season.

A new season of 9-1-1: Lone Star is currently in the works. According to showrunner Tim Minear in January, the showrunner was “decompressing” and needing time to “regroup” before making any decisions. “I don’t think we’re going to have a situation where there’s a terrorist attack at their wedding or something. But I’m not sure,” he told Entertainment Tonight in May.

“I definitely want to play the planning. I want to play the build-up. I want to play at the event. I want to play all that stuff. That can be satisfying just in and of itself.” Additionally, the executive producer hinted that Judd’s (Jim Parrack) and Grace’s marriage might be explored more closely. “They didn’t know about Wyatt until this year. I think there’ll be a lot to explore there,” he added, referencing the firefighter’s son.
