Television fans who enjoy procedural drama series must be happy to know that ‘9-1-1’ is back with its sixth season. The series chronicles the lives of Los Angeles first responders: police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and dispatchers. Fox renewed 9-1-1 season 6 this past May despite the show’s popularity with fans and the fact that it had to negotiate new contracts with the cast were factors in the delay in renewing the show.
In no way could fans have been more thrilled when the show was renewed for another season, allowing them to continue following the adventures of LA’s Station 118, the LAPD field sergeants, and the 9-1-1 center that connects them all.
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear (also the showrunner) created and executive produced ‘9-1-1’ alongside Juan Carlos Coto and Kristen Reidel. Lyndsey Beaulieu, Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray, Bradley Buecker, Peter Krause, and Angela Bassett. The show is a joint production between Reamworks, Brad Falchuk, Teley-Vision, and Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Television.

911 Season 6 Plot
As a whole, ‘9-1-1’ is about relationships. The show focuses on first responders who live in the Los Angeles area, including 9-1-1 dispatchers, paramedics, firefighters, and police officers. It shows them dealing with interpersonal drama and romantic relationships, as well as horrific personal injuries and natural disaster scenes.
For its first five seasons on the air, the show has seen characters suffer devasting fires, massive earthquakes, and window-shattering explosions. The firehouse and the police station are linked by Bobby and Athena’s marriage, while Chimney and Maddie, who link the firehouse and the 9-1-1 call center, have a very close friendship that has spanned their on-again, off-again relationship.
It was especially Season 5 that challenged each member of Station 118. It was only after the combined efforts of several members that the villainous Jonah (Bryce Durfee) was exposed and charged. That being said, the finale set things off peacefully as every member of Station 118 eventually reunited. ‘9-1-1’ executive producer Kristen Reidel discussed how Season 6 picks up where Season 5 left off and explores the dynamics of the various couples, which are either super good or in need of some serious intervention.
It is important to note that Reidel cautioned that the scale of public emergency has tempered from previous years. “We’ve moved away a bit from the giant, multi-episode disaster,” she said, “Those are a little hard to find once you’ve done an earthquake and a tsunami.”
Although things are still looking far from peaceful and quiet for the main cast, the Season 6 premiere saw a massive blimp crash into a soccer stadium packed to the brim with fans. After Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) get married in season 5, fans may be able to see a whole lot more than just that. As Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) discuss their honeymoon trip in the season finale, the honeymoon vacation may be shown to viewers after the couple got married. After being apart for 6 months owing to Maddie’s postpartum depression, we can expect love sparks to reappear between her and Chimney.
