Jason Katims is creating Dear Edward which is a brand-new drama television series for Apple TV+. It is based on the same novel by American writer Ann Napolitano. The story of the novel is about a 12-year-old boy who survives a plane crash leading to the death of 191 people, along with his own family. Napolitano and Katims are also the executive producers of the series along with Jeni Mulein and Fisher Stevens.
The series hired some well-known personalities for the roles including Colin O’Brien, Taylor Schilling, Audrey Corsa, Connie Britton, Jenna Qureshi, Maxwell Jenkins, Amy Forsyth, Brittany S. Hall, Carter Hudson, Eva Ariel Binder, Idris DeBrand, Dario Ladani Sanchez, Ivan Shaw, and Anna Uzzle.
In February 2022, it was confirmed that the streaming series platform Apple TV+ had given a straight 10 episodes order to the series.

All the passengers alongside his family members die in the incident and he manages to survive.
