Directed by Melina Matsoukas, The Changeling is an upcoming horror-fantasy television series made on the novel of the same name by Victor LaValle. The executive producers of the show are Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, Patrick Chu, Ali Krug, Melina Matsoukas, Lakeith Stanfield, and Kelly Marcel.

In the novel, the lead character Apollo Kagwa is a book dealer and a father who is always available for his child and never abandons him. But things take a worse turn when Apollo’s wife Emma starts showing signs of postpartum depression and she eventually does a horrifying act that can never be done by any parent. She disappears and Apollo embarks on a journey to find his wife and son, and he enters an island in New York City’s East River followed by a graveyard and a forest where immigrant legends are residing.
The combination of horror and fantasy is the one thing that makes this show unique and different. Since the show is an adaptation of a novel and because it has been read by many people, the new series is expected to pull a large number of audiences towards it. Kelly Marcel is well-known as the writer of various successful films like Fifty Shades of Grey, Venom, Cruella, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and more. So, it is confirmed that Marcel will write an engaging screenplay for all the viewers of Apple TV+.
Horror fantasy shows have been working on television and OTT platforms for many years since they have introduced a lot of weird creatures and situations on the small screen.
