Technically, this premise is used in a lot of anime (such as “Log Horizon” and “Sword Art Online”). None, though, have the same distinct tone and identity as “Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense.” “Bofuri” is all about experiencing an MMORPG in a genuine VR context, just like its genre relatives.
While shows like “Sword Art Online” focus on the experiences of serious gamers, “Bofuri” is about a lovably foolish novice who manages to become one of the most powerful players in the fictional VRMMORPG NewWorld Online.
Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense is a Japanese light book written by Yuumikan and drawn by Koin. This light novel was first published on September 8, 2017, and there are currently 12 volumes available.
In Japan, Fujimi Shobo published the novel, while Yen Press released it in English. In addition, the manga series is based on the novel. An anime series with the same name premiered on AT-X, ABC, Tokyo MX, TVA, and BS11 on January 8, 2020, and ended on March 25, 2020, with 12 episodes.
Shin Oonuma and Mirai Minato illustrated the anime series, which was written by Fumihiko Shimo. On December 6, 2018, Kadokawa confirmed that the anime would be adapted. Funimation has licensed the anime for a SimulDub.
The series has a 7.5/10 on IMDb. The audience like this gaming animation as well. The characters and world of the series are both stunning and vibrant. It’s always entertaining to watch a charming little narrative.
According to Anime News Network, the series began as a standalone online novel written by Yuumikan and published in 2016. The series quickly gained a following, spawning light novels, manga, and (most recently) anime adaptations.

Bofuri Season 1 Plot
Kaede Honjou is the main character in the series, who was invited to play online games by her friend Risa Shiramine. Kaede, on the other hand, despises online gaming and dislikes being in pain. Maple was the name she gave to the character in the game when she was playing it. Because she isn’t very good at gaming, she let all of her status points to be shielded.
