What happens when horror imbibes humour? Easy- the Bhool Bhulaiyaa standalone sequel, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
The upcoming sequel to the iconic horror comedy first seen in 2007 will be released later this year, starring Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, and Kiara Advani. The original release date stood at 31 July 2020 but was delayed to 2022 because of the ever rising Covid 19 pandemic.
About Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
The scene is set in the long, endlessly sprawling halls of a haveli, this movie brings forward rustic horror feels with dripping humour. A tinge of drama adds nothing but flavour, making it a savoury consumption.
Anees Bazmee brings forward this sequel to the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Priyadarshan in 2007, which was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu and was a huge commercial as well as critical success. It starred Akshay Kumar, Ameesha Patel, Vidya Balan, and Paresh Rawal among others.
The sequel brings to us current limelight stars Kartik Aryan, Tabu, and Kiara Advani.
Kartik Aaryan, when asked about on screen chemistry, said that he has the best on screen chemistry with Tabu. As for Advani, she has stepped up to become a favourite among filmmakers, owing to her skill, fearlessness, and the several accolades to her name by both critics and audiences.
When will Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 be released?
This unique bundle of horror, comedy, and mystery is scheduled to release on 25 March 2022. It was, unfortunately, pushed ahead and postponed due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
It is a Hindi flick in the genres of horror, comic relief, and mystery, written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik, and directed by Anees Bazmee.
Bazmee rather proudly commented his opinion on the film, saying, “It’s shaped up into a complete entertainer for the family. My films are always free of vulgarity and double meanings. My leading man Kartik Aaryan also has a very family-oriented image. Kids, grownups, grandfathers, and grandmothers …they all love Kartik. So we have a double responsibility which Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will more than deliver.”

The primary star cast includes Kartik Aaryan, who has previously starred in commercial successes, with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety being his breakthrough. Since then, he has also starred in Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh.
Kiara Advani, known for her prowess and expertise, is also amongst the primary cast. She has starred in various successful projects, such as a supporting role in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Lust Stories, Good Newwz, Bharat Ane Nenu, to name a few.
We also see Tabu, one of the most accomplished actresses in India. She has played a vast variety of complex characters, and this adds on to the list. With endless roles played and an even greater list of accolades, it goes without saying that she has come to serve, as always.

Director’s Comment on the Talks about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
Anees believes that the movie is a family must watch. With no vulgarity or double meaning, it is age appropriate for everyone.
When compared with Bhool Bhoolaiyaa 1, he rejected every comment and said “The first Bhool Bhulaiyaa film came 14 years ago. Audiences have moved on since then. Priyadarshan who directed the first film had his own style of storytelling. I have my own style.”
Also, when a comparison among speculators was drawn comparing Kartik Aaryan and Akshay Kumar, Anees says, “Wait to see the entire film before comparing the two. Akshay and Kartik are different actors. They both have impeccable comic timing. But their approach and style are incomparable. They are like two master chefs cooking the same dish. The taste and flavour are bound to be completely different.”

While not much has been disclosed about the music that will play a role in this movie, it has been revealed that the Music Director of the movie is Pritam, with more awards and nominations than you can count, be it Asia Pacific Screen Awards or the 21 Filmfare Awards in his name- so you best believe that the music in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is going to be wonderfully composed.
