FX’s upcoming limited series, ‘Fleishman is in Trouble season 1, is a drama series based on a novel of the same name, which was written by Taffy Brodesser-Akner, and published by Penguin Random House on June 18, 2019. The miniseries is about a Manhattan couple going through a bitter divorce. ‘Fleishman is in Trouble’ was created for FX by the author herself, who is also an executive producer. Other executive producers of the show are Carl Beverly, Susannah Grant, Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, and Sarah Timberman.

Following an eight-episode order announcement on March 11, 2021, ‘Fleishman is in Trouble’ began filming in New York around February 2022 and is set to release exclusively on Hulu in November. Production is carried out under ABC Signature, FX Productions, and Timberman/Beverly Productions. Fleishman is in Trouble is directed by filmmaking duo Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and will be distributed by Disney Platform Distribution.

Fleishman is in Trouble Season 1 Plot

After his ex-wife Rachel disappears, leaving their kids behind, surgeon Toby Fleishman is left trying to balance his dating life, his job, and taking care of his children. As the series proceeds, we will see Toby confront everything that went wrong in his marriage. The story is narrated by Toby’s friend, Libby. According to a book review by the New Yorker, the Fleishman is in Trouble novel “turns the marriage novel inside out.”

From that review, we expect to see a fresh take on the bitter divorce trope, and hopefully, it will be as entertaining as fans of the book claimed it to be. It will all depend on how different from the novel the miniseries is. Book adaptations have disappointed us in the past. Maybe this one won’t.

Fleishman Is in Trouble follows recently separated surgeon Toby Fleishman as he enters the world of app-based dating and finds more success than he ever had the last time he was single. When his ex-wife, Rachel, disappears, he’s left with their kids and no hint of where she is or whether she plans to return. Balancing parenting, friends, a long-awaited promotion at the hospital, and all the eligible women Manhattan has to offer, he realizes he’ll never be able to figure out what happened to Rachel until he can more honestly examine their marriage. All eight episodes of Fleishman Is in Trouble will be available only on Hulu in the United States. But later on, the drama series is expected to drop on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in other countries. Fleishman is in Trouble and has not been renewed for season 2. Today, only one season of the drama series has been ordered, and it will premiere in November 2022.
