To top it off, it is called Little Demon. Is that adult enough for you? Here is everything we know about the new FXX series.
Little Demon is an adult animated comedy series on FXX, a partner channel of the FX Network owned by the Walt Disney Channel. The TV series is about Satan and a woman he impregnated thirteen years ago, fighting for the custody of their daughter, or in Satan’s case, her soul.
Darcy Fowler, Seth Kirschner, and Kieran Valla are writers and executive producers of the sitcom, which premiered on August 25, 2022. Other executive producers are Danny DeVito. His son, Jake DeVito, and his daughter, Lucy DeVito, Aubrey Plaza, and Dan Harmon.
Little Demon is directed by Jeanette Moreno King and edited by Mike API and Charles Jones. Atomic Cartoons, Jersey 2ng Ave, Evil Hag Productions, and FXP are some production companies involved. Little Demon is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic.
Little Demon Season 1 Release Date
Episodes 1 and 2 of Little Demon premiered on August 25, 2022, in Canada and the US. The two episodes became available in Australia, Europe, and New Zealand on September 21 through Disney+. The people of Latin America will also be gifted this violently hilarious show by December 12.
Little Demon Season 1 Plot
In Little Demon Episode 1, we see 13-year-old Chrissy and her mum, Laura, arrive in a new town in the middle of Chrissy’s seventh-grade year, which Chrissy isn’t happy about. Laura had moved them around a lot in the past eight years. Chrissy starts at a new school and makes a new friend, Bennigan. Everything goes south when Bennigan is attacked by thugs, and Chrissy ends up protecting him by blowing up the thugs with dark powers she didn’t know she had.
Chrissy discovers that she is the daughter of Satan, which makes her the Antichrist. While defending Bennigan, Chrissy unknowingly opened a black hole, which then allowed Satan to locate her. Laura, who has been moving them around a lot to avoid this exact situation decides they are moving to Alaska.
Before Laura can execute her plan, Chrissy is kidnapped by Satan, and taken to the metaphysical realm. In the metaphysical realm, Satan is more than eager to give Chrissy a tour as he plans to use her powers to bring about Maximus Dawnus, a hellish takeover of Earth. Laura arrives soon after and gets in a fight with Satan.
During their fight, Chrissy slips back to Earth without them noticing. By the time they finally caught on, Chrissy had had enough and decided to call the shots from then on. She insisted that they stay in the town they are currently in, and informs Satan that they can see each other at any time of her choosing.
In Little Demon Episode 2, we see a lot of soul-swapping involving Laura, Chrissy, their neighbor, Darlene, Bennigan, and Asmodeus, the Grand Demon of Possession, with a score to settle. While trying out her ability to possess people, Chrissy spreads her soul so thin, she is at the precipice of getting lost forever. In episode 2, Satan does a test run of his plan to use Chrissy’s power for Maximus Dawnus.
He takes Chrissy to the Wibby Turkle realm to do this but fails. In episode 4, we see Laura’s fear that Chrissy’s dark powers are taking over her, confirmed by Chrissy’s attitude. Chrissy gets out of punishment by scaring a teacher with her dark powers, steals an important summoning tool from her mother, and gets involved in the summoning of Slimm Timm, a slender man that devours the hearts of young people. That doesn’t go well at all, and both Chrissy and Laura almost die.
Now, in the recently released episode 5, we see Laura using anger leeches to suck anger out of her body, and in turn, prove to Chrissy that she is a good mom. Like the equally as normal parent Satan is, he is also busy throwing a party where humans are killed as entertainment. Although, he is mostly failing since he doesn’t seem to enjoy murdering people for no reason anymore.
We also see Chrissy going about a typical chore day. Tending to monster plants, fetching water from haunted wells, you know, the usual. Later in the day, Chrissy gets into trouble with a monster trying to kill her. Her mother, who is now too high on anger-sucking leeches to help, leaves Chrissy to deal with the monster on her own.
After Chrissy manages to kill the monster, she goes to check on her mother. Laura is found in the bathroom, covered in leeches, which have now taken over her. Chrissy helps her mother come to her senses, and finally decides that she prefers her mother, without the leeches, and eases up on her Meanwhile, Satan is accused of getting softer by his friends. Again, like a normal parent, he solves this problem by killing his friends.
Little Demon Season 1 Cast
Little Demon’s major characters, Satan, Laura Feinberg, and Chrissy Feinberg are voiced by Danny DeVito, Aubrey Plaza, and Lucy DeVito respectively. Chrissy’s archenemy, Unshaven Man, is voiced by Michael Shannon. Eugene Cordero voices the Antichrist’s best friend, Bennigan. Snoopy’s neighbor, Darlene, is voiced by Lennon Parham, and Charlie McWade vocalizes Satan’s driver, Snake with Arms. Laura and Chrissy’s pet monster, Erwin is voiced by Seth Kirschner.
The Little Demon has impressive guest stars including MCU’s Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, whose voice was used for a character named Bark Woofalo. Talk about juvenile humor. But, it is absolutely expected from a black comedy series about a custody battle between Satan, and his one-night stand. Former WWE wrestler, Dave Bautista (also known as Drax the Destroyer from the MCU), is also a guest star in one of the episodes of Little Demon. There’s also the 38th Governor of California, and Terminator actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, hiding behind an animated character somewhere in this satanic series. Little Demon has an average rating of 6.4/10 on IMDb and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. 49% of Google users gave the sitcom a thumbs-up. We bet the remaining 51% either haven’t seen this show or don’t know what in heaven to do with it.
