The principal leads, Charlie and Emma, fall for each other over a night of flirting. Charlie is a con man, while Emma is an undercover C.I.A. agent whose futures collide due to the nature of their profession. The show introduces both their families and draws parallels between them. Emma uses Charlie’s and the Hill’s skillset to assist the C.I.A. in solving cases. Meanwhile, the Hill family is also involved in con jobs of their own.
As Emma closes in on a criminal, Hill’s family must get out of debt with him too.
By the end, we see an unlikely alliance forming between Emma, Charlie and Daphne, a crime boss and a consultant to Patrick Maguire, the main antagonist for the season. Daphne tries to go through with her scheme but fails. By the end of the series, Charlie and Emma go their ways but agree to meet for drinks occasionally.
