The Demon Girl Next Door is an anime TV series adapted from the popular four-panel Japanese manga series of the same title by Izumo Itō. It narrates the journey and fights off a weakling Demon girl who has to defeat a much overpowering and stronger Magic girl who has been treating her nicely and kindly all along to put an end to a curse.
The Demon Girl Next Door Plot
Yuuko Yoshida, a regular high school student wakes up from a weird, strange dream of this mysterious ancestor shocked as she sees she has grown demonic horns and a tail. All confused and curious, her mother then finally reveals to her an old long kept dark family secret which is that her family has descended from a Dark Clan that was then driven away to continue living all powerless, helpless, and destitute by their enemies, the Magic Girls of the Light Clan. The only way to break this curse of their ancestry is if Yuuko finds a magical girl, kills her, and then splatters her blood over her ancestor’s Demon God Statue.
For “Shadow Mistress Yuuko” it is good luck indeed as she is saved by a magical girl from an accident with an oncoming truck. But the problem becomes that Momo Chiyoda, her savior happens to be her classmate too at Sakuragaoka High and is also way more strong and more resilient than Yuuko. Momo is strong physically as well as has high endurance. She felt pity for Yuuko’s weak condition and so the magical girl herself agrees to guide and assist her own assailant and help her explore her powers and gain strength. Now Yuuko has to buckle up and rise to eventually defeat and murder her kind and generous frenemy in order to save her family and lineage from the terrible cloud of poverty ensuing otherwise.
The Demon Girl Next Door Season 3 Release Date
Since all the 6 volumes of the manga have already been used to make the anime a lot has to be taken into consideration if Season 3 of The Demon Girl Next Door is possible or not owing to if there is even any availability of content for another season.
But it seems like fans do not need to fret over it since the manga will be continued from January and the author took a break owing to health conditions.
Because of the positive reception and fan craze over the Demon Girl Next Door even though there is no official confirmation on the renewal status of the show and the continuity of the manga itself all points toward the direction of The Demon Girl Next Door Season 3 happening. If a potential Season 3 takes place then it will still take about two to four years for production and scripting. So, we cannot expect Season 3, if it happens, to hit the screens anytime before 2024 at the earliest.
