Written and illustrated by Japanese manga artist and writer Yoshitoki Oima, To Your Eternity is a Japanese manga fantasy drama series. It first appeared in Weekly Shonen Magazine in November 2016 and the chapters were collected by Kodansha in 18 volumes until September 2022. The plot is about Fushi, who is an immortal figure and can take different forms alongside freezing their abilities. The abilities eventually evolve and the character understands the real meaning of being a human in the upcoming years.
To Your Eternity received positive reviews in Japan and won a lot of awards. Praise was specifically given towards the emotional focus on the villagers and Fushi which brought perfect scores. There were reactions from a few stating that the similar impact was falling short on a few chapters.
Fushi is a character that was loved by everyone and Olma received the same love for the detailed facial expressions and environments. An anime adaptation was released in April 2021 and concluded in August of the same year. A second season was released in October 2022. To Your Eternity Season 3 Release Date
Kodansha announced on January 8, 2020, that the manga will be adapted into an anime that will premiere on NHK Educational TV. Brain’s Base was involved in the animation and helmed by Masahiko Murata, with Shinzo Fujita being hired for the composition, Koji Yubano for the characters, and Ryo Kawasaki as the composer.
The show was slated for release in October 2020 but was delayed because of the pandemic until April 2021. The show aired for 20 episodes and another season was confirmed in the final episode of Season 1. Drive was then hired for the animation in Season 2 and Kiyok Sayama was brought in as the director.
It was released on October 23, 2022, and Crunchyroll licensed the anime for streaming outside Asia, and Medialink was responsible for being streamed on Ani-One Brand. Hikaru Utada performed the opening theme song and Masashi Hamauzu composed the ending song. The release date for To Your Eternity Season 3 has not been renewed yet, so, there is no release date for any new season.
To Your Eternity Season 3 Plot
The makers of To Your Eternity have not stated anything about what they are planning to bring for the third season. However, the plot is expected to follow the events of the manga.
In the manga, Fushi destroys and recreates buildings in Renril as his body extensions and keeps the bodies in such a position with the help of which he can get out of the city. A lot of Nokkers attack the city with new skills and March is accidentally reborn between all this. Fushi eventually passes out and Bon’s allies die. After Fushi wakes up, Bon states that they are special and can go back to living a normal life.
Fushi takes their assistance in defending the city and resurrects them when needed. The battle goes on and Kahaku’s Nokker attacks Fushi, who returns him to his real form as Orb. March discovers Bon and kills himself near Fushi. Able could see his friends’ spirits in Bon’s form, and after Fushi remembers them, he returns them to life and they win the battle while Fushi gets back his strength.
Kahaku leaves with Nokker and kills himself and Nokker. He expresses his love for Fushi, which was a result of being a reincarnation of his maternal great-great-great-great grandmother Hayase, and decides to pass on Hayase’s bloodline to the upcoming generations until the end.
