Reginald The Vampire Release Date, Plot, Cast, and More

Syfy’s upcoming series Reginald the Vampire, starring Jacob Batalon of Spider-Man fame, is a return to the vampire genre. This is all the information we have. The next season of SyFy’s drama series has been revealed. A film version of Johnny B. Truant’s Fat Vampire novels, titled Reginald the Vampire, is now in production.

Starring Jacob Batalon (who became a big celebrity thanks to his role in Spider-Man), the show seems to spoof popular culture’s portrayal of vampires like the Twilight saga. Even while vampires aren’t exactly on the cutting edge of fashion in 2022, shows like What We Do in the Shadows on FX prove that the Twilight franchise is far from dead.

The show’s premiere date is a significant mystery surrounding “Reginald the Vampire.” The Hollywood Reporter claims that the show’s release date has not yet been set. Since Syfy hasn’t provided an update on the production’s progress, it’s impossible to know when the show will premiere. However, the announcement for the popular Syfy show “Wynonna Earp” occurred in 2015. (via IDW Publishing).

The premiere of the show itself wouldn’t happen until 2016. This indicates, “Reginald the Vampire” won’t hit theaters until at least 2022. At this time, though, we know very little. The general silence on production data for this show suggests it is still in its early stages. Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too high until Syfy gives a more firm release date.

Reginald The Vampire Plot

You may get a feel for the film’s potential with this notion by watching the official teaser trailer. Reginald is just your typical guy who has to settle for a job at a convenience store. He doesn’t like the hand he was dealt and wants to figure out how to alter it. When the opportunity presents itself, he takes advantage of it by having a mysterious stranger transform him into one of the world’s many common vampires. The elite of the vampire community, however, is not so accepting of his membership.

Although Reginald must “feed” (i.e., drink blood) to be alive, he is too shy to attack unsuspecting victims, instead giving a man up to $50 for the opportunity to bleed him. The series’ pick of a protagonist raises expectations that it will follow the formula of subverting clichés. Vampires in popular culture tend to be white, attractive, and self-assured. Despite being stigmatized for being vampires, they are considered “perfect.” Batalon gives the show a chance to diversify its portrayal of vampires by featuring a character of color who doesn’t look like the typical vampire. The popularity of vampire stories may have waned in recent years, but at least this show is adding some much-needed humor and variety to the genre.

Reginald The Vampire Cast

Syfy has landed a famous name that is guaranteed to attract some Marvel fans, even while the bulk of the material for “Reginald the Vampire” is still a mystery. The show’s titular character, Reginald Baskins, will be played by Jacob Batalon, who plays Spider-best Man’s buddy Ned in the MCU. Reginald was a normal, if the chubby, mortal man who turned into a normal, if unattractive, undead monster, but beyond that, not much is known about him.

On the other hand, we still don’t know who played the rest of the undead army in “Reginald the Vampire.” What we do know is that Reginald, upon becoming a vampire, is thrust into a new world populated by ultra-pretty, ultra-fit vampires who don’t seem to think much of him because of his appearance and talents. Nobody knows how these handsome vampires will stack up against the other best vamps on TV. But any actors Syfy hires to play them will make Reginald’s success (if he has any) that much more satisfying.
