Season 2 of NBC’s ‘Songland’ premiered on April 13, 2020. On June 15, 2020, it came to an end with the tenth episode. There has been no official word from the network regarding the show’s renewal until now. During its run, Season 2 averaged 0.6 live ratings in the 18-49 demographic. Songland Season 3 Cast
Three brilliant music producers will be joining the judging panel. Ryan Tedder, the lead singer of OneRepublic and four-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter, is the first on the list. He’s also worked with Adele, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and the Jonas Brothers as a producer. Ester Dean, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, and Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj’s producer are up next. Each week, four competitors compete for the chance to have their song recorded and published worldwide by the featured chart-topping artist on ‘Songland.’ Lyrics, arrangements, beats, melody, and plot are among the aspects of the contestants’ creations that are judged. Each episode concludes with the announcement of a winner, whose song is recorded and published for an international audience. Boyz II Men, Florida Georgia Line, Luis Fonsi, H.E.R., Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Julia Michaels, Ben Platt, Bebe Rexha, and Usher are among the guest recording artists in the second season. Utah Connection to Songland
Ryan Innes, a Utah singer-songwriter, participated in “Songland” last season. Even though Lady A did not choose Innes’ song “Long Way Home,” which was up against the smash hit “Champagne Night,” the song was a hit for Innes.
Todd Tilghman, the winner of “The Voice” last year, cut the song and performed it for the season finale of “The Voice.” It quickly rose to the top of the iTunes charts.
“I didn’t create ‘Long Way Home with the intention of someone else cutting it,” Innes previously told the Deseret News. “But I’m delighted I got out of my way and let the song live,” she says.
