The show follows tech expert Ezra Banks, private investigator Maudie Miller, dramatic girl Ava Andrikides and athletic star Kyle Klimson. They are a part of a detective agency called Inbestigators and they unsolve the mystery behind criminal incidents at school and other places and later share the same on a vlog.
The makers have hired some talented stars for the characters of the series that include Abby Bergman, Aston Droomer, Anna Cooke, and Jamil Smyth-Secka. They are in their fifth grade.
The show has a tone of Little Lunch, which was also based on the mystery. It was released on June 21, 2019, on ABC Me followed by the second season in 2019 and 2020. The critics loved the show for its humor and cast although the characters received a polarized response. In 2019, at the AACTA Awards, the series received two nominations for Best Children’s Television Series. In 2020, at the Casting Guild of Australia Awards, Nathan Lloyd won the award for Achievement in Casting for the show. It led to a spin-off, The Inbestigators: Crime Crack, which premiered in 2019, and a study guide was released during the pandemic.
